I'm an 8th grader running for ASB President because I have always believed that hard work can create real change. I bring the same principle of dedication to leadership, and I believe that ASB should extend its arm into the student body and spark real change. If students don't feel represented, how can we make the right decisions with our budget? I hope to get to know you more, and would be honored to receive your vote for ASB President.
At the MCF Club, I ensured that we spent wisely and effectively to give students a stellar season of workshops, events, and programs, while delivering on our promise to ASB to benefit every student. This was just one of the ways we made sure that we used funds wisely, and to their full benefit. This year, we need to stop being overprotective and start creating real impacts for students. These thousands of dollars could mean big improvements for the student body we are supposed to represent!
I serve as a voting member on the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) for the City of Mountain View. In this position, I am responsible for Communications and Outreach, organizing our many events like Teen Month and the Teen Wellness Retreat! In this role, it is crucial that every youth voice be valued and promoted. Let's show Graham's student community we are listening and are ready to represent them!
Last year, I was privaleged to be voted to the ASB Executive Board as the Scribe. In this role, I fullfilled my original promise to bring diligence to the ASB Board. My role included documentation as well as being spokesperson of the ASB's actions. I took this a step further by establishing and maintaining the first ever ASB Website, grahamasb.org. Let's continue the work of providing opportunity and resources for students to engage with Leadership!
As Student CEO of the Bear Enterprises, and President of the Economics Club, I have on-point financial oversight and key management skills to let every Graham student shine! The Economics Club is the governing body for our school's economy, with staple student-led businesses like The Bear Bodega, and The Royal Bank of Ditty. Here, I know that WHERE we'll put our money is just as important as HOW we'll get it!
This summer, I worked as an intern at the California Association of Youth Commissions (CAYC). In this role, I helped new cities navigate establishing a youth commission, connecting them with resources and keeping track of their city's status. I was proud to be featured in an edition of CAYC's blog at californiayouthcommissions.org. Youth representation in places that affect them matters!
